Community services shut down

As you may have heard, there is a global security panic about PHP right now, with governments and hospitals shutting down their web sites rather than having them hacked.

The legacy makehuman infrastructure (the forum and the asset repo) run on PHP too. As a precation, I have now brought them down. To my knowledge, the sites haven’t been hacked. Yet. But given the age of the infrastructure, and the lack of upgrade paths, it would probably be a question of days if leaving it online.

The static site (this site) with the asset packs and (obviously) the github repos are still online and will remain so.

Right now, it is not obvious how to move forward with these things. We are discussing in the dev group.

But the forum and the asset repo is likely to be down for some time.
